Bachelor Degrees in Biological Sciences
The Bachelor of Arts (BA) and Bachelor of Science (BS) degrees have the same core course work, but the BS degree requires an additional 12-19 units of upper division units, depending on concentration. In general, those graduating with the BS degree are well prepared for graduate school in biology, while those with the BA have the flexibility to select additional courses outside of biology to prepare them for careers that require greater breadth of preparation.
