The Government Affairs involves projects undertaken at the request of, in cooperation with, and for the benefit of California state and local governments. A public university has a particular obligation to provide access to its resources to the entities from which it receives financial, institutional and popular support. While most of this obligation is fulfilled through its educational function, the Center and Sacramento State believe that helping to develop, enact and implement public policy also meets this duty.
The Center's Government Affairs activities have traditionally focused on seminars, symposiums and training programs. In recent years, the Center has built on this foundation by developing programs that make the applied research and other resources of the California State University directly available to state decision-makers.
