Major: Electronic and electrical engineering. Class of 2007.

Background: “Growing up in a Third World country, I have learned to appreciate all the resources that are available, and embrace the diversity of many different cultures. Having excelled in science and math in high school, I knew that I wanted to be an engineer so when I arrived in Sacramento I attended classes at community colleges in the Sacramento area before enrolling here in fall 2004.”

Changes: “Being at Sacramento State has taught me the value of networking and creating good relationships with people. You can learn a lot from your friends and classmates. And I’ve learned how important it is to be in contact with people who have the same goals as you. It keeps you on track.”

Highlight: “Getting here to Sacramento State and studying a subject that I really love and that I am doing well in. I have tutored and mentored high school students in math and science through National Society of Black Engineers at Hewlett-Packard and I am currently a volunteer tutor through MEP (Minorities in Engineering Program).”

Destination: “After a few years of industry experience, I envision myself going back to school for my master’s degree. I hope to also give back to the community through mentorship and tutoring programs.”
