Tyrone Anub
Hometown: Antelope, California
Major: Philosophy. Class of 2007.
Background: U.S. Marine Corps Senior Officer Candidate and a member of Sacramento State’s Platoon Leaders Course.
Highlight: “I like the quality of professors they have in the philosophy department. They are teaching courses on well-known philosophers that they personally studied under.”
Changes: “I have become more focused. Studying under philosophy professors Thomas Pyne and Matthew McCormick really forced me to study a lot harder and to pay closer attention to what I was reading. That attention to detail is something I’m going to take with me when I leave.”
Proudest Accomplishment: Being offered the opportunity to write an article for The Sonic Boom, Sacramento State’s Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps’ newspaper, about earning respect and inspiring confidence.
Destination:
To further his career in the U.S. Marine Corps in the areas of ground intelligence or amphibious assault vehicles. And to one day teach at a military academy.
