Longevity Center
The Longevity Center is run by the Sacramento State Gerontology Program. This arm of the Program is dedicated to helping students and faculty achieve a variety of goals.
Purpose: The Longevity Center was established to aid students in achieving educational, research, and service goals. The Center concept also serves to stimulate faculty research and teaching in the field of gerontology and related studies. Center functions include, among others: providing a forum for idea exchanges between students, faculty, alumni and the community; serving as an information center; and stimulating research.
Activity: Longevity Center funds have been used to support community outreach and community programs, specifically the Longevity Faire. Funds have also been used to support Sacramento State's Gamma Chi Chapter of Sigma Phi Omega, the National Honor and Professional Society in Gerontology.
Goals for the Future: The Gerontology Program would like to expand the Longevity Center and increase its activity, particularly in the areas of faculty development and student research. If you would like to make a donation to the Longevity Center, please contact our office.
