The Therapeutic Exercise and Rehabilitation emphasis provides students with in-depth science-based course work which meets the prerequisite requirements for most Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and other health related professional preparation programs. Admission to professional preparation programs is competitive and it is critical that students work closely with an assigned advisor to plan course work.

The Therapeutic Exercise and Rehabilitation track is a subplan or emphasis of the exercise Science concentration within the Kinesiology major. Throughout the semester, there will be advising sessions for continuing students changing their concentration to Therapeutic Exercise and Rehabilitation, along with transfer students who are new to the concentration.
Note: Additional units may be required to meet the Sacramento State foreign language requirement.

The Spring 2016 advising session schedule is as follows:
You will be invited to graduate online when you have completed 90 units. If you think you should have been invited to graduate, but have not, contact your faculty advisor. Be sure that your major (Academic Plan) is Kinesiology, the concentration is Exercise Science, and the emphasis (Academic Subplan) is Therapeutic Exercise and Rehabilitation. The assigned faculty advisor will review your graduation application major information. Contact your faculty advisor with any questions about how to enter substitutions. If any changes in coursework are made after your graduation application has been submitted, you must fill out a "Graduation Application Substitution Form" from the Kinesiology office, and have it signed by your advisor and the department chair.
After graduation options:
After graduation with a BS in Kinesiology, many students continue on to graduate school in the following disciplines:
