Dorothy Mohr Scholarship

  • Award Amount:  $75
  • GPA Requirement:  Highest GPA of Graduating Seniors.
  • Major:  Kinesiology with emphasis in teaching in K - 12 setting.
  • Class Level:  Graduating Senior w/KINB status or accepted to the Blended Physical Education Program.
  • Enrollment Requirement:  Must be enrolled in KINB program.
  • Other Requirements:  Recipient will be selected on the basis of highest GPA and aptitude toward becoming an effective educator.

Edith Gardner Scholarship

  • Award Amount:  $100
  • GPA Requirement:  2.75 minimum.
  • Major:  Kinesiology with emphasis in teaching in K - 12 setting.
  • Class Level:  Physical Education Student Teacher.
  • Enrollment Requirement:  Full-time.
  • Other Requirements:   Applicants must be accepted into the Sacramento State Student Teaching Program and be able to provide evidence of community service.

Greg and Linda Grant for Student Teachers

  • Award Amount:  $500
  • GPA Requirement:  N/A
  • Major:  Kinesiology with emphasis in teaching in K - 12 setting.
  • Class Level:  Unclassified Graduate Student who is student teaching during the semester they apply for scholarship.
  • Enrollment Requirement:  Full-time.
  • Other Requirements:  Recipients must display an exemplary ability to work with children and youth in physical education settings and/or show promise of such ability.

Greg and Linda Grant for KINB Students

  • Award Amount:  $500
  • GPA Requirement:  N/A
  • Major:  Kinesiology (KINB) with emphasis in teaching in K - 12 setting.
  • Class Level:  KINB status (accepted to the Blended PE Program).
  • Enrollment Requirement:  Half-time.
  • Other Requirements:  Recipients must display an exemplary ability to work with children and youth in physical education settings and/or show promise of such ability.

Dr. Irv Faria Exercise Physiology Scholarship

  • Award Amount:  $500
  • GPA Requirement:  3.0 minimum.
  • Major:  Kinesiology  - Exercise Physiology Option.
  • Class Level:  Classified or Unclassified Graduate Student.
  • Enrollment Requirement:  Full-time.
  • Other Requirements:  Letter of intent - each applicant is to provide a statement which addresses the intent to enroll in the graduate Exercise Physiology program at CSUS.  A general biographical sketch must include career goal, research involvement, competitive sport participation, community activity, etc.

James S. Bosco Minority Incentive Graduate Scholarship

  • Award Amount:  $250
  • GPA Requirement:  2.8 overall or 3.0 within major.
  • Major:  Kinesiology - Exercise Physiology Option.
  • Class Level:  Classified or Unclassified Graduate Student.
  • Enrollment Requirement:  Full-time.
  • Other Requirements: 
    • A one-page letter describing your education and career goals and your status as an underrepresented minority with the Kinesiology program.
    • One copy of your transcript or complete CSUS grade report form.

Greg Johnson Scholarship

  • Award Amount:  $500/year or more
  • GPA Requirement:  3.0 minimum.
  • Major:  Kinesiology: Sports Performance/Strength & Conditioning Track.
  • Class Level:  Classified Graduate Student.
  • Enrollment Requirement:  Half-time.
  • Other Requirements: 
    • Preference given to those students who are involved as a competitor in the sport of weightlifting.
    • Priority will be given to Strength & Conditioning students in their 3rd or 4th KINS 295 Intenship.
    • Student must be in good standing, e.g. no incompletes, no outstanding payments or fines.
    • Selection committee comprised of Dr. Bill Kutzer and Dr. Harry Theodorides or someone they recommend.

UC Davis Medical Center Volunteer Services Scholarship

  • Award Amount:  $250
  • GPA Requirement:  N/A
  • Major:  N/A
  • Class Level:  All
  • Enrollment Requirement:  Must be enrolled.
  • Other Requirements:  Be a student continuing in pre-health field. Volunteer at the UCD Medical Center within the past 2 years with a minimum of 40 hours, completed in a 3-month period; student receive a scholarship award in one year and applies the following year need an additional 40 hours. Student must provide written verification of volunteer status. Submit a letter of reference from a UCD Medical Center staff person who functions as the applicant's supervisor, reflecting outstanding performance in their volunteer role.
