Campus Technology Projects
The purpose of the Information Technology Project Database is to provide University visibility to all enterprise-wide projects, and to provide project sponsors and project managers a simple, effective method for updating, reviewing, and communicating the status of projects. It is also a starting point for integrating more formal project management methodologies in an effort to be as efficient and effective as possible in our management of projects.
The database is also part of our effort to identify and prioritize projects so that appropriate resources can be applied in a way that best serves the overall good of the university, especially in these tight economic times. Clear priorities and direction reduce miscommunication and duplication of effort.
This database is in a pilot mode as the project leads and sponsors begin to document and update projects, and generally learn to use the tool.
