McNair Scholar Wins Student Research Symposium

Jasmine Stewart-Oliver, a member of the 2011-12 cohort, was one of two undergraduate winners in the 2013 CSU Sacramento Student Research Symposium. Prizes of $500 for outstanding achievement in original scholarship were awarded to each. Additionally, McNair Scholars Ariel Mosley and Marisa Smith were selected as finalist to represent Sacramento State at the California State University System-wide Competition at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona on May 10-11, 2013. The competition is a university-wide event to highlight and celebrate the research, scholarship, and creative activity of our students and their faculty mentors. The Symposium provides a public forum for their work as well as an exciting experience for all. |

The California State University, Sacramento McNair Scholars Program is a two-year program designed to prepare selected university students, in junior and senior standing, for admission and study at the doctoral level. With the assistance of the McNair Scholars program, these same students are now looking to complete Ph.D. degrees in their fields of study. The McNair Scholars Programs at California State University, Sacramento helps students in their journey to reach their full potential.This program has been partially funded by a US Department of Education Grant and in-kind contribution from California State University, Sacramento.
