Dr. Knifsend

WELCOME TO DR. KNIFSEND! A NEW ASSISTANT PROFESSOR JOINING THE DEPARTMENT OF PSYCHOLOGY THIS FALL SEMESTER.  Dr. Knifsend received her PhD in Psychology from University of California, Los Angeles in 2014.  Dr. Knifsend's research focuses on understanding how activities and sports can connect youth from different racial/ethnic backgrounds in ways that reduce prejudice. Dr. Knifsend will teach Research Methods in Psychology (Psyc 8) and Psychology of Adolescence (Psyc 149) this fall.

IMPACTION AND APPLYING TO THE PSYCHOLOGY MAJOR: The Chancellor's Office of the California State University has granted the Psychology Department impaction status for its undergraduate major program. Students applying to the major are required to submit a supplemental application. New applicants, including transfer students, must be admitted to the University prior to applying to the major.  For more information on impaction and the AA-T/AS-T transfer degree, please see Program Impaction

Students applying to the major for Fall 2015 admission to the Psychology major are strongly encouraged to attend one of the following Information Sessions:

1. Friday, January 30th, from 1:30pm – 2:30pm, Amador Hall 217

2. Tuesday, February 17th, from 5:30pm – 6:30pm, Amador Hall 250

3. Friday, March 6th, from 1:30pm – 2:30pm, Academic Information Resource Center 1009

The Supplemental Application period for Spring 2015 is now closed.  The Supplemental Application period for Fall 2015 will be available during the Spring 2015 semester from February 2, 2015 to March 13, 2015.  To access the Supplemental Application for Fall 2015, the application will be available using the following link on February 2nd
