About our Academic Programs

Psychology is the scientific study of human and animal behavior, cognition, and emotion. It is a broad discipline that includes both basic research and the application of research findings to everyday life.  The Sacramento State Psychology Department offers an Undergraduate program in General Psychology, as well as a certificate program in Applied Behavior Analysis.

At both the Undergraduate and Graduate levels, students may choose course work, fieldwork, and research experiences that allow them to emphasize such areas as:

  • Cognitive
  • Developmental
  • Industrial/Organizational

  • Personality
  • Applied Behavior Analysis.

To learn more information about the different Undergraduate emphasize areas and to formulate a plan of courses to take, please meet with any FULL Time faculty member.  They each have open office hours in which you can meet with them without an appointment, and those times are listed under the link provided on our homepage.
