Note: Disruptive Behavior is defined as persistently interfering with academic and administrative activities on campus. "Behavior" includes conduct and expression. Such behavior actively hampers the ability of other students to learn and of instructors to teach. Extreme forms of this behavior may even threaten the physical safety of students and staff. Disruptive behavior can involve inordinate and inappropriate demands of students for time and attention from faculty and staff. This particular kind of disruptive behavior -- loud, incessant, prolonged, or belligerent insistence-- from students so that they are accorded more time, attention, and respect from certain university personnel is unacceptable. Passive and covert albeit serious forms of disruptive behavior can also occur - such as offensive personal hygiene. Displays of inappropriate emotion for no apparent reason or unpredictable behavior may also be considered disruptive.
