Educating the tech workforce of tomorrow

Sacramento State is working to attract more young people to the sciences, give them a rigorous education, and advance them into graduate studies and the job market. In order to do that, we are working with area schools, colleges, universities, and employers to create a seamless STEM “pipeline.” Our region’s future depends on it.

Expanding Your Horizons Conference - October 10, 2015
California State University, Sacramento
This event is a one-day science and math conference  for 6th-8th grade girls, designed to encourage and empower young women to pursue education and careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

2014 National Association of Geoscience Teachers Conference
October 10th-12th
California State University, Sacramento
The program includes opportunities for field trips to the Sierra, Sacramento Delta and more; workshops on mineral uses, Mesozoic reptiles in California, atmospheric circulation modeling for the “Next Generation Science Standards”, and other topics.
