How to Become a Woman's Studies Major

Since Women's Studies at Sacramento State is offered as a Special Major, the process for adding or changing your major is different than declaring other majors. Students must already be admitted to the University, and will not be able to apply to Sacramento State as a Women's Studies major.

Students wishing to add Women's Studies as a major can do so by completing the Special Major Application and writing a brief rationale that explains why you are pursuing Women's Studies as a major. For detailed instructions on this process, please click here.

Once you have obtained the necessary signatures and submitted your form for final approval, you will be notified on whether or not your application has been approved.
