Facilities Latest Announcements
October 19, 2012
Hello Campus Community,
Many of you are aware Facilities shuts down the Central Plant boilers in the spring for maintenance and to save energy $$$. Now that the season is changing and we have hot days and cold nights, we apologize for the cold buildings you have been experiencing. Sequoia Hall is especially problematic because the fume hoods on the 4th and 5th floors requires we bring in outside air all night long.
Good News! The boilers will be started up on Sunday. It takes a while for the distribution piping to warm up and minor repairs taken care of. Heat should be out to the buildings no later than Wednesday or Thursday.
Please continue to wear or bring layers of clothing so you can be comfortable as the building temperatures change.
Please forward to others in your department or building.
Thanks for your patience!
-Linda Hafar
