American Opportunity Tax Credit - 1098T Tax Form
The American Opportunity Tax Credit is available for students the first four years after high school. If you attended the university at least half time during the 2013 calendar year and completed your classes with passing grades, certain tuition, fees and course materials qualify for the credit. If you registered for classes through the Student Center you may access your electronic 1098T Form after January 31, 2014 by following these instructions:
- Go the Finances section of your Student Center.
- Using the "other financial..." drop down menu, select "View 1098T".
- Select 2013. (If you do not have a 2013 link, you may not be elligible for the American Opportunity Act Tax Credit. Please see the 1098-T Frequenty Asked Questions page.)
Note: If you are having problems viewing your form, it may be due to your browser. The form can be downloaded in Internet Explorer with Adobe Reader.
If a student qualifies for the credit, the University will report qualified tuition, fees, and related expense amounts billed (charged to your account) during the 2013 calendar year. Not all billed fees are elligible to appear on the 1098T form. Adjustments reflect only credits to your account for a previously reported calendar year.
