Fix50 Update: The Fix50 project is completed and all east and westbound lanes are open.

Effective Sunday, January 5, 2014, RT will implement service improvements that will extend night service on 10 bus routes and restructure one bus route to better serve riders. Service Improvements


As of Spring, 2014, the Hornet Line's stop at The WELL will be relocated closer to the interior of campus.  Map of relocated stop.


Upgrades are necessary to our Online Parking Services to enhance software performance.  Online Parking Services will be unavailable Friday, June 28, at 2:00pm through Monday, July 1,  at 9:00am, as well as Saturday, July 13, 9:01pm to 11:59pm.


Convenience Parking, located in Parking Structure I, will be discontinued after the spring, 2013, semester.


Hornet Shuttle Update: As of March 18, 2013, the Riverside Hall stop at Lot 4 has been moved south along State University Drive, East to the Bookstore.


To cut down on energy costs, UTAPS will temporarily close Parking Structure III, Lot 10 and Lot 11, beginning Friday, December 14th, at midnight and opening again on Tuesday, January 22nd at 7:00am. 


Portions of parking lots 7 & 8, at the South end of the campus near the College Town Drive entrance, will undergo maintenance and repair between now and the end of July 2012.  Portions of these lots will be closed intermittently during the project. In addition, between now and mid-August 2012, Parking Structure I, on the West side of campus near the playing fields will be restriped and undergo improvements to the outside stair railing. Portions of Parking Structure I will be closed intermittently during these projects.

There should be minimal parking disruption to the campus community during these projects. With Summer being an off peak parking period at Sacramento State, student parking permits are valid in most faculty/staff parking spaces, as well as all student parking spaces. The exception – student parking permits are not valid in faculty/staff parking spaces in Lot 2 Residence Hall. Faculty/staff parking permits are always valid in faculty/staff and student parking spaces.


NOTICE: Due to a system upgrade, Online Services will not be available beginning at 5:00pm on October 27th through 9:00am on the 28th.  The UTAPS office will stop accepting monetary transactions at 4:30pm on the 27th.

Beginning Tuesday, 9/6/11, the Hornet Line will operate 7:40am to 5:05pm with no break during the mid-day hours.


UTAPS Online Parking Services will be unavailable between June 30th at 3:00pm and July 1st at 9:00am.  Our office will be accepting cash and checks between 3:00pm and closing (4:00pm) on June 30th.  Our office will accept cash, checks and major credit cards beginning 7:30am on July 1st.


Sacramento State will implement schedule changes on all three Hornet Express Shuttle lines beginning in the Spring 2011 semester. The University will suspend its plans to eliminate the Gold Line in Fall 2011 and will continue to gather ridership data for all shuttle lines.

The Hornet Line, Green Line and Gold Line will operate during the Fall and Spring semesters, Monday through Friday, between 7:20am - 10:15am and again between 2:30pm - 4:55pm.

A route change will also be made to the Hornet Line beginning in Spring 2011. The revised route will focus on the south end of campus with stops at Folsom Hall, Napa Hall, The WELL and the 65th Street light rail station. Service on the Hornet Line is being increased to a 15 minute frequency, rather than a 40 minute frequency.

12/17/09: Winter Closure

Sacramento State’s winter recess is upon us!  UTAPS will temporarily be closed beginning Friday, December 18th at 5:00pm and opening again on Monday, January 4th at 7:30am.  During our absence, you may utilize our Online Parking Services to do the following:

  • Students Purchase a semester permit. (Does not include Residence Hall permit.)
  • Students Purchase a motorcycle permit. (Does not include Residence Hall permit.)
  • Faculty amp; Staff: Purchase a semester permit.
  • Pay parking citations.
  • Appeal parking citations.
  • Update email and mailing addresses for online parking business.

12/9/09: Parking Facility Changes

In an on-going effort to reduce costs, the University will begin closing several parking facilities when classes are not in session and there are few students on campus. These lots and structures are designated for student parking, and the University will be able to generate savings on utilities as a result of these closures.

The following structures and lots will be closed for parking beginning Dec. 19 and will re-open Jan. 19: Parking Structure II, Parking Structure III, Parking Structure IV (at Folsom Hall), Lot 10, and Lot 11.  Parking Structure I will remain open. The closures are planned to take place during all the off peak times of the year including winter, spring and summer recess.
