2009/2010 Valued Staff Professionals Awards

Nomination Deadline is October 9, 2009

The ABA Valued Staff Professionals Award is an opportunity for ABA managers to recognize staff professionals within their families whose outstanding contributions and achievements during the year advance the mission, vision and goals of ABA and the University.

Awards are presented annually to staff members representing all ABA families:

  • Administrative Operations / Auditing Services (1)
  • Budget Planning & Administration (1)
  • Business and Administrative Services (2 )
  • Facilities Services (3)
  • Financial Services (2)
  • Public Safety (1)
  • Risk Management Services (1)

Each ABA Management Council member may submit a nomination for one staff professional from his/her family. Family heads will make recommendations to the Vice President for Administration, and finalists will be selected by the Vice President (in consultation with family heads). 

To allow adequate representation of staff from the larger ABA families, more than one award per family may be granted as follows:  Business and Administrative Services (up to 2), Facilities Services (up to 3), and Financial Services (up to 2). Administrative Operations/Audit Services, Budget Planning & Administration, Public Safety and Risk Management Services may have up to 1 award per family.  Awards will be presented by family heads at the ABA Staff Professionals Meeting on November 2 & 3, 2009.

Awards will be based on one or more of the following criteria:

Contributes to the development of a welcoming campus for the University’s or ABA's internal and/or external communities through dedicated service and professionalism. Contributes to the success of ABA in the campus community (or Sac State in the greater community) through direct work assignments or significant support of others in the division or on campus.
Promotes the values of leadership, teamwork, respect, pluralism, service, ethics and integrity espoused by ABA and the University. Contributes toward more efficient or productive operations by proposing money-saving ideas, exhibiting exceptional fiscal responsibility, or improving the quality of services.
