Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Cal-OSHA (CCR Title 8, 3380) and Federal OSHA (CFR1910.132 & CFR1926.28) both have standards that regulate the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) to reduce employee exposure to hazards when engineering and administrative controls are not feasible or effective in reducing these exposures to acceptable levels. Employers are required to determine if PPE should be used to protect their workers.

The purpose of this program is to provide the various CSUS departments and its employees with the tools to identify the hazards in the workplace and the most suitable PPE to protect the employee from these hazards.
