About the Associate Vice President
Justin Reginato, PH.D. is a former associate professor of Construction Management at California State University, Sacramento, where he taught from 2009 to 2016. Dr. Reginato's specialties include project cost estimating and control, scheduling, and project management. His research interests include construction economics, labor issues, and adoption of technology in the construction industry.
Dr. Reginato maintains close relationships within the industry. He is an active construction consultant and has served on the construction committee for two school projects (where he performed contractor selection, change order analysis and negotiation, and other owner representative activities) and actively serves as an expert witness for construction disputes and claims.
Prior to his appointment as interim Associate Vice President of Facilities Management, Dr. Reginato was an Associate Professor of Construction Management in Sac States College of Engineering and Computer Science and before that he was an Assistant Professor of Civil Engineering and Engineering Management at the University of the Pacific. Dr. Reginato’s past industry employment includes experience as a project manager and estimator with Swinerton Builders and URS Construction Services civil engineering design with URS/Woodward Clyde and Taber Consultants.
Dr. Reginato received his Ph.D. from the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department in the University of California, Berkeley's College of Engineering, where he focused on Engineering and Project Management and minored in Management of Technology. His M.S. is in Civil Engineering from U.C. Berkeley and his B.S. in Geological Engineering from the University of Nevada, Reno's Mackay School of Earth Science and Engineering.
