Community Policing Program
The Sacramento State Police Department is dedicated to a professional, community oriented approach to policing and campus safety.
We recognize and value the importance of a safe and secure educational environment both on and off our campus.
We also will strive to provide an environment that fosters the opportunity and the freedom for our entire community to grow intellectually while in the pursuit of educational excellence.
In an effort to be accessible to the campus community, our officers use both foot patrol and bicycle patrol to supplement the typical vehicle patrol of the campus.
One of the hallmark programs used by our department to foster good community relationships is the police trading card program.
Police Trading Card Program
The intent of the police officer trading card is to have Sacramento State Police Department officers meet directly with our community members and to leave them something similar to a business card.
These cards have a brief introduction of the officer and have safety/crime tips printed on the back. During the introduction, we plan to talk to the community member and tell them what services our department offers and provide an opportunity for a friendly interaction between our officers and the community.
The Sacramento State Police Department has been doing the police officer trading card program for several years.
