Sacramento State Public Safety: On Duty 24/7

As part of an overall strategy to address this unprecedented funding reduction, the CSU is proposing a two-day per month furlough for all employees, including management and executives, but not public safety personnel.

A top priority for Sacramento State is the safety of students, faculty, staff and campus visitors.

The University’s Public Safety officers maintain an around-the-clock police presence to protect lives, infrastructure and property, including personal property.

Officers are constantly anticipating and preparing for potential risks to prevent potential incidents from escalating into real threats. Part of that preparation is sustaining a regular police presence as a deterrent to crime, which includes preventing damage that could result in greater financial losses for the University.

Campus dispatchers provide round-the-clock service to the campus as a 911 emergency number. They also provide 24-hour availability of information as customer service.
