2009/2010 Recognition Program

The ABA Staff Peer Awards program is an opportunity for ABA staff professionals to acknowledge the contributions of their peers. Staff professionals may nominate their peers from six categories: Customer Service, Problem Solver, Professionalism, Positive Attitude, Teamwork and Excellence. Awardees are selected by a team of 2009 award recipients and ABA family representatives: Candace Ensley (Business & Administrative Services), Valerie Kessler (Public Safety), George Paine (Facilities Services), and Theo Povondra (Financial Services). Awards were presented at the spring ABA Staff Professionals meetings on May 24 and 25. This year's event honored six ABA award recipients and close to 40 staff nominees. Shown below are photos of the 2010 Staff Peer Award recipients, information on their awards, as well as a list of all nominees.

For consistently applying creativity, knowledge and or tenacity to solve problems

Keith Olocki

Professionalism:
For inspiring others to reach new heights of excellence and providing guidance and judgment to help others succeed

Remedios (Bong) Templo

Positive Attitude:
For maintaining a positive outlook in the workplace which engages others in positive thinking

Randy Davis

Teamwork:
For outstanding contributions to the work of a unit, a team or across units lines

Doug Nguyen

Excellence:
For consistently excelling in all aspects of his work, performing at high levels to achieve successful or innovative results

Nicole Rogers

Customer Service:
For consistently delivering high-quality service to customers

The ABA Valued Staff Professionals Award is an opportunity for ABA managers to recognize staff professionals within their families whose outstanding contributions and achievements during the year advance the mission, vision and goals of ABA and the University. Awards are presented annually to staff members representing all ABA families. Valued Staff Professionals contribute in one or all of the following ways: through dedicated service and professionalism; through direct work assignments or significant support of others in the division or on campus; by promoting the values of leadership, teamwork, respect, pluralism, service, ethics and integrity and proposing money-saving ideas or improving the quality of services.
