University Transportation & Parking Services (UTAPS) employs approximately sixty (60) Sacramento State students to perform various jobs around the campus. Some of these jobs include but are not limited to: Appeals Assistant, Bicycle Compound, Citation Processing Assistant, Community Service Officer (CSO), Front Office Assistant and Hornet Express Shuttle Driver. University Transportation & Parking Services (UTAPS) is always looking for students to fill these positions, but our main hiring time is toward the end of each semester for the following semester. Training is conducted prior to the start of each semester.

University Transportation & Parking Services (UTAPS) accepts applications from Sacramento State students interested in working during the Fall and Spring semesters. We are looking for students who are very positive, professional and are friendly.

Positions include:

  • Hornet Express Shuttle Bus Driver - Drive the Hornet Express Shuttle, Night Shuttle, and serve as Night Shuttle Dispatch. Hornet Express Shuttle driver $12.00/hr, Night Shuttle driver - $10.25/hr.  See Hornet Express Shuttle training rate below.   • Community Service Officer (CSO) - Enforce parking rules and regulations and staff bicycle compound. $8.50/hr. Contact the Parking Analyst with questions at (916) 278-7680.

Sacramento State student assistants must have at least a 2.0 GPA and be enrolled in a minimum of six (6) units. Applications may be obtained from the University Transportation and Parking Service (UTAPS) Office.

Persons applying for the Hornet Express Shuttle, Night Shuttle and Night Shuttle Dispatch positions must have a clean driving record and pass the required physical exam and drug screening test. Additionally, drivers must be 18 years of age. Training rate is $8.50/hr. Training sessions are generally conducted in the months of July and August.
