New, Improved Parking Permits
This summer, UTAPS will implement newly designed, repositionable parking permits that will adhere to the inside of vehicle windshields. The new permits, which will feature different campus beauty shots, will go into effect beginning this summer for all student, faculty and staff semester permits. Faculty and staff who have a 24-month payroll deduct permit will have permits replaced in September 2013.
The new permits will replace the existing rear-view mirror hangtag permits. Benefits of the new design include using less material for a “greener” product, cheaper production costs, ease in moving from vehicle to vehicle and the ability for parking officers to scan and identify stolen parking permits.
The parking permit should be adhered to the inside bottom corner of the windshield on the passenger side. The permit must be completely visible, including the barcode and permit number.

Fall 2012 MOVE-IN DAY for Resident Hall Students
As we welcome you to a new semester at Sac State, we would like to take this time to remind you about one critical aspect of MOVE-IN DAY, Friday, August 24, 2012. We expect residence hall parking on MOVE-IN DAY to be a challenge. You can help mitigate congestion by following the simple procedures outlined below. We are asking for your cooperation on this very busy day so that you, your family and your fellow residents can help make MOVE-IN DAY an easy and well-organized experience.
A parking permit will not be required on MOVE-IN DAY in Lot 2. This includes residence hall spaces, as well as student and faculty/staff spaces in Lot 2. Be aware that a valid Sac State parking permit will be required in all other lots on campus on MOVE-IN DAY. View the map for designated 30 minute parking/loading zones.

Zipcar Arrives on Campus!
University Transportation and Parking Services (UTAPS) has partnered with Zipcar to bring convenient and sustainable transportation options to students. Since the Fall 2011 semester, two Zipcars have been located near the residence halls for student use. These cars are available 24 hours a day for up to 180 miles per day.
"UTAPS thought it would be a great service to provide to our students," said Gina Lombardo, director of UTAPS. The program is part of a system-wide agreement between the California State University (CSU) and Zipcar.
Both the location and the availability of the Zipcars helps promote alternative transportation by allowing students to leave their cars at home. Registration is easy! For those interested, view the Sac State Zipcar registration page.
Temporary Closure of Parking Facilities - Energy Savings
In an effort to save energy costs during off-peak periods, Lot 10, Lot 11 and Parking Structure III will be closed during Spring Recess, Summer and Winter Break. All other parking facilities are scheduled to be open and available during the closure of the facilities.
