Kem Gravenberg was appointed to the CSU Facilities Management Conference Steering Committee in 2008. As a member, Kem participates with Chancellor’s Office staff and CSU system colleagues in developing the agenda for the annual conference. |
For the October 2008 conference, the committee met monthly to plan the four-day event at the Los Angeles Biltmore Hotel. This included identifying a conference theme – “Create Tomorrow Together,” determining a process for selecting educational sessions, and developing sponsorship, marketing and promotional strategies. Kem was also a member of the Keynote Speaker Subcommittee, tasked with selecting a keynote speaker as well as other topical speakers for the event, and acted as a moderator for the break-out session – “Ethics and Academia: The Gray Matter Counts.”
Kem will continue as a member of the Steering Committee, planning for the next conference in 2010. The CSU will not hold a conference in 2009 due to budget constraints.
