Freshman Orientation
Orientation is a REQUIRED two-day program for all new freshmen and will take place between June 30 and July 31, 2008. Orientation is designed to help new students get off to the right start by learning about academic requirements, meeting with faculty major advisors and learning about campus programs and services. Freshmen cannot register for fall classes unless they attend Orientation. This website will help guide you through important information as you prepare for your first semester at Sac State. Students who cannot attend Freshman Orientation in July must register for one of the August Orientation sessions. August Orientation is a one-day program. There is no course registration of FROSH Night in August. Students attending August Orientation will register for classes the week of August 18th.

ORIENTATION SCHEDULE :
Here is the Freshmen Orientation Schedule we have planned for you. Please note that Orientation is a two-day propgram and are required to attend BOTH days.
PLACEMENT EXAMS:
If applicable, ELM/EPT placement tests must be taken and scored BEFORE you can register for classes. (Out-of-state students see ELM/EPT exemptions)
PARENTS/GUARDIANS:
You are welcome to bring your parents or guardians with you to Orientation. For details on the program and a schedule of events, visit: Parents
ORIENTATION PROGRAM FEES:
Freshman: $70
Parent/Guest: $50
F.R.O.S.H. Night: $60
Fees for Orientation cover the cost of staffing, lunch, the Advising & Registration Handbook, and program materials. Financial aid does not apply to Orientation fees.
Please note: Refunds can be given only if you request a cancellation in writing at least two business days in advance of your assigned date. For changes in reservations or cancellations, call (916) 278-7841.
SCHOLARSHIP ATHLETES:
Recruited Student-Athletes are required to participate in all University Orientation programs. Student-Athletes attend Orientation as Undeclared majors and must select sessions A, B, or G. Parents and students will attend a 90-minute presentation specific to athletes' academic needs. Student-Athletes should also contact their athletic coaches regarding additional summer academic/life skills programs scheduled for August. Note: This is for recruited athletes planning to participate in NCAA-sponsored Intercollegiate Athletic Department sports.
EOP & SUMMER BRIDGE
All EOP students are required to attend Freshman Orientation unless they have been admitted in the Summer Bridge program. EOP students admitted to Summer Bridge will participate in Orientation during their summer program. Students with requestions regarding their status in the Summer Bridge program should contact the EOP office at (916) 278-6183. Students not admitted into Summer Bridge are expected to attend the mandatory Freshman Orientation program.
SERVICES TO STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES
Requests for sign language interpreters, real time captioners, materials in alternative formats, or ADA accommodations must be made at least 10 working days in advance by contacting the Services to Students with Disabilities office at (916) 278-6955 voice or (916) 278-7239 TTY.
CHILD CARE
Students who are in need of child care (ages 1 - 5 years) during Orientation may arrange for free child care from the ASI Children's Center. This service is based on space availability and requests for care should be made at least seven working days in advance. For arrangements call the ASI Children's Center at (916) 278-6216. Child care will not be available on Saturdays.
