Freshman Parents & Guardian Program
Congratulations on your son/daughter completing high school. We are excited that your student selected Sacramento State. Your student's next step is to attend Freshman Orientation. As a parent or guardian, we hope you will attend Orientation, too.
Our Freshman Orientation Parent & Spouse Program is designed to help you know as much as possible about the University so you will be in a better position to encourage and support their student while he/she is pursuing a degree at Sacramento State. During Orientation, you will learn about academic requirements necessary for you student to get a degree and the numerous programs and services available to help them reach that goal. Many of these services are free!
FRESHMAN ORIENTATION SCHEDULE:
We have a busy day planned for you and your student. For a detailed schedule, check out Freshman Orientation Schedule.
F.R.O.S.H. NIGHT:
With over 28,000 students, Sac State can be a bit intimidating for new students. We have an optional program for your student to help them meet other new students at Freshman Orientation: F.R.O.S.H. Night.
During F.R.O.S.H. Night, your student can spend the night in the residence halls and participate in activities to help them get to know other students. In addition, the orientation leaders will be on hand to help them put together their class schedule. This is a great opportunity for new students regardless of how close/far from campus they travel to Orientation. For details, check out F.R.O.S.H. NIGHT
ORIENTATION PROGRAM FEES:
Freshman: $70
Parent/Guest: $50
F.R.O.S.H. Night: $60
Please note: Refunds can be given only if you request a cancellation in writing at least two business days in advance of your assigned date. For changes in reservations or cancellations, call (916) 278-7841.
