What Happens After Orientation?

Registering for Classes - Students will register for classes during Orientation. Students who elect not to register for classes while at Orientation can do so by going to their My Sac State account. Course registration takes begins June 9 thru July 31, 2008. A late registration period will occur August 18 - 28, 2008.

Paying Registration Fees - After students register for classes, they will need to visit their My Sac State account and check the Student Center for account information. Students MUST pay their registration fees during the period indicated. Failure to do so will result in the cancellation of classes they registered for. If you have filed for financial aid (loans, grants, work-study), you should contact Financial Aid. You must submit a FAFSA form to be considered for aid. You can check the status of your awards on your My Sac State page.

Parking Permits - Parking permits can be purchased as an added fee when paying registration fees. You can also buy one in person at the Student Financial Services Center in Lassen Hall or the UTAPS office. Daily passes can be purchased in designated parking lots for $5. For Residence Hall permits call Parking at (916) 278-7275. For Disabled Student Permits call SSWD at (916) 278-6955. Semester parking passes are currently $108.

Housing/ Apartments - If you are interested in living in the Residence Halls or looking for local apartments and roommates, you can contact Housing and Residential Life at (916) 278-6655.

Sac State's newest housing option for students is the The Upper Eastside Lofts. They are currently accepting leasing applications for 2008-2009. Students can choose from three, four and five bed, fully furnished lofts with full, modern kitchens. This brand new facility is located at 65th Street and Folsom Blvd., minutes from the Hornet Tunnel and adjacent to the 65th Street Light Rail Station and is steps away from shops, restaurants and other retail stores.

One Card - If you did not visit the One Card Center during Orientation to get your Sac State ID, you can do so anytime after orientation or when classes begin. Their office is next to Brighton Hall.

Final Transcripts - Transfer and freshman students are required to submit their final official transcripts once all coursework has been completed. This includes any AP scores. Mail to Enrollment Services, 6000 J Street, Sacramento, CA 95819-6048

Immunizations - All new and re-admitted students born after January 1, 1957 are required to show proof of immunity to measles and rubella. Students 18 years and younger are required to show proof of immunization against hepatitis B. Be prepared to present copies of your immunization records to the Sac State Health Center. Verifications of immunity will be requested early in your first semester. Failure to comply with this requirement will prevent you from registering in future semesters.

On Campus Employment - There are a variety of on-campus jobs available for the working student. Visit the Career Center website and the Student Employment website for job listings.
