Welcome Parents, Spouses and Guardians

Congratuations. Your student has been admitted to Sacramento State. We are looking forward to meeting them. To prepare them (and you) for their first semester at Sac State, we encourage your attendance at New Student Orientation this summer.

Your student has been receiving a lot of information via their My Sac State account. To give you a better understanding of the information and deadlines occuring this spring, visit: What Parents Should Know.

Our Parent, Spouse and Guardian Program is designed to help you know as much about Sac State so you will be in a better position to encourage and support your student. During New Student Orientation, you will learn about academic requirements students must complete and the various programs and services offered to help them along the way (many of which are free). Come learn how you can help your student succeed and graduate from Sac State.

WELCOME
Sacramento State President Alexander Gonzalez extends a welcome to you.  For the message to transfer guests, click HERE.  For the message to freshman guests, click HERE.

WHICH PROGRAM DO I ATTEND?
If your student has never attended college or has completed less than 18 units of college credit, join us for Freshman Orientation.

If your student has attended college and has completed at least 19 units, join us for Transfer Orientation

QUESTIONS
If you still have questions about the New Student Orientation program and what to expect, check out our FAQ page.

Are you looking for more information on campus services?  We've put together some of our most common parent concerns and linked them to campus resources.  Visit PARENT TALK.

CAMPUS SAFETY
In light of tragic incidents at Virginia Tech and Northern Illinois University, parents may have questions about safety procedures on the Sacramento State campus. The University's police department has published a variety of resources to address emergency action and critical incident preparedness. We invite you to visit their website for details.

We are glad that you are interested in being involved in your student's education at Sac State.  We look forward to meeting you this summer.

The things I love about Sac State are the people & the friends I have made!
