Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) Learning Communities
The Educational Opportunity Program, established in 1969, is designed to improve access and retention of low-income and educationally disadvantaged students. The program provides admission assistance, counseling services, academic advising, financial assistance, and retention services to eligible undergraduate students who are California residents.
If you are a newly admitted student to EOP, you will be placed in an EOP Learning Community in your first semester. This experience is designed to ease your transition to college life and to promote your success in college. In addition to the benefits of all Freshman Programs, EOP Learning Communities provide:
- Opportunities to form enduring friendships with peers and invaluable relationships with faculty both in and outside the classroom
- Learning opportunities through collaborative groups, events and team-building activities
- Tutoring and a range of support services that are integral for success
