University Learning Communities Program
Learning Communities are clusters of 2-3 classes, linked by a common theme. These courses are designed to meet General Education and/or major requirements that are necessary to graduate. Faculty and peer mentors work closely with students both in and out of the classroom to develop a supportive academic environment. “MySacState” requires that you register for ALL classes in the community.
In addition to the benefits of all Freshman Programs, University Learning Communities provide:
- Opportunities for collaborative activities in and out of the classroom
- Increased likelihood of success at Sacramento State
- Personal advising, study groups, mentoring and resources from peer mentors
