Proposal Draft

Justification: California State University, Sacramento proposes to offer the doctorate (Ed. D.) in educational leadership pursuant to SB 724 (Scott). The projected number of educational leaders of K-12 and community college systems scheduled to retire in the next 10 years continues to be significant. Coupled with population growths in certain communities, schools and community colleges can not fill administrative vacancies with highly skilled leaders. The proposed California State University, Sacramento Ed. D. program seeks to provide a supply of qualified and effective leaders to serve in the K-12 public schools and community colleges.
