| SUBSTANTIVE PROGRAM CHANGE
Justification: New state requirements (SB2042, SB1209) for a summative Teaching Performance Assessment created a need for additional support to Multiple Subject Credential candidates in the EDS Dual Program (Multiple Subject Credential and Mild/Moderate Education Specialist Credential). To support those specific candidates who need to complete their Teaching Events as the summative assessment, we will replace EDTE 307 (Seminar in Problems of Teaching, 1 unit) with EDTE 332 (Assessment Center Laboratory for Multiple Subject Candidates: PACT Teaching Event Completion Seminar, 2 units). Both EDTE 307 and EDTE 332 courses are existing courses in the EDTE Multiple Subject Credential Program. EDTE 332 will contain instruction and any necessary activities related to PACT (Performance Assessment for CA Teachers) to guide candidates through the process of completing and submitting the culminating Teaching Event. It will also guide candidates’ completion of the Professional Teaching Portfolio. At the end of the course, candidates will formally submit their PACT Teaching Event and Portfolio.
