The Council on the Preparation of School Personnel will meet on Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. in the SAC 275 to review the Proposals contained in this list.  Response due to Academic Affairs by Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at 12 noon.

SUBSTANTIVE PROGRAM CHANGE

School Nurse Credential Program

Justification:

The School Nurse Credential Program requests that the audiology requirement for graduation be removed.  This credential-specific course is not offered on this campus.  Students often take a course that fulfills the credential requirement, but the course may or may not be a university course so therefore cannot be counted toward meeting the graduation requirement.  The School Nurse students have more than the 33 units required for graduation in the major, therefore graduation will not be affected.  To the contrary, this requirement has been an impediment to graduation in the past.  The students must take an audiology course for the credential and we will continue to advise them of this requirement.
