Welcome Message

It is our pleasure to share with you on behalf of our campus colleagues this second issue of the Sacramento State Accessible Technology Initiative “Fast Facts for Accessibility” Newsletter.  We hope this newsletter will provide you with helpful information relevant to the implementation of the Accessible Technology Initiative, tips for how to design accessible instructional materials and web pages usable by all individuals, strategies to achieve compliance with IT purchases, and resources available to help the campus-at-large to improve access to information resources and technologies to individuals with disabilities.

The Accessible Technology Initiative is a reflection of the University’s ongoing commitment to equity and many of our University’s shared values:

  • Excellence in Teaching and Learning
  • Access to Higher Education
  • Opportunities for Student Achievement and Success
  • Diversity and Inclusiveness

The campus is now in the second year of implementing the CSU Accessible Technology Initiative.  We have come a long way in the last year as a campus but we are asking for everyone’s continuing assistance in helping to assure full and equal access to electronic and information technology to individuals with disabilities. The campus is also committed to helping individuals and programs comply with the accessibility requirements with training and assistance from Academic Technology & Creative Services, Center for Teaching and Learning, Information Resources & Technology, Services to Students with Disabilities and other departments and programs at Sacramento State. Together we can achieve inclusive educational excellence.
