Faculty Senate Subcommittees

  • Academic Standards Subcommittee
    The Academic Standards Subcommittee is a subcommittee of the Academic Policies Committee (APC) and is responsible for recommending policy on academic standards and making decisions on petitions from students seeking exception to established academic standards.
  • Council on Preparation of School Personnel (CPSP)
    The Council on Preparation of School Personnel is a subcommittee of the Curriculum Policies Committee (CPC) and is responsible for identifying issues, recommending policies, and other matters related to Subject Matter, Blended Programs, and Professional Preparation Programs.
  • Curriculum Subcommittee
    The Curriculum Subcommittee is a subcommittee of the Curriculum Policies Committee (CPC) and is responsible for reviewing and making recommendations regarding all modifications to existing courses/programs and all proposals for new courses/programs.
  • Faculty Endowment for Student Scholarship Committee
    The Faculty Endowment for Student Scholarship Committee is a subcommittee of the Academic Policies Committee (APC) that reviews applications for, and selects the recipients of the Faculty Endowment for Student Scholarships Awards.  The Committee is also responsible for recommending policies, procedures on the Student Scholarship Fund, and advises on fund-raising, and evaluates proposals for funding (including the annual disbursement of earnings from the fund).
  • General Education Course Review Subcommittee
    The General Education Course Review Subcommittee is a subcommittee of the General Education Policies/Graduation Requirements Committee (GE/GRPC) and is responsible for reviewing and recommending courses for inclusion in the General Education Program.  It further develops definitions and evaluation standards pertaining to area criteria and undertakes periodic reviews (every 2 years) of area and sub-area criteria, definitions, and standards as required by current University policy.
  • Lifetime Achievement Award Selection Committee
    The Lifetime Achievement Award Selection Committee is a subcommittee of the Faculty Policies Committee (FPC) that reviews nominations for, and selects the recipients of the Lifetime Achievement Award.  The Lifetime Achievement Award is given to faculty who have engaged in 10 years or more of professional service to the community and whose service, that has applied the nominee's professional knowledge and skills to addressing community needs, has created an enduring legacy for the Sacramento region or beyond.
  • John C. Livingston Annual Faculty Lecture Committee
    The John C. Livingston Annual Faculty Lecture Committee is a subcommittee of the Faculty Policies Committee (FPC) that reviews nominations for and selects the faculty member who shall give the John C. Livingston Annual Faculty Lecture.
  • Pedagogy Enhancement Awards Subcommittee (PEAS)
    The Pedagogy Enhancement Awards Subcommittee is a subcommittee of the Faculty Policies Committee (FPC) and is charged with the administration of the Pedagogy Enhancement Awards and with recommending policies and procedures relating to the Pedagogy Enhancement Awards to the Faculty Policies Committee.
  • Program Review Oversight Subcommittee (PROC)
    The Program Review Oversight Subcommittee is a subcommittee of the Curriculum Policies Committee (CPC) and is responsible for reviewing any pending program reviews that have been given conditional approval in previous reviews.
  • Readmission Subcommittee
    The Readmission Committee is a subcommittee of the Academic Policies Committee (APC) and evaluates appeals for readmission from dismissed students after a mandatory interruption in enrollment.
  • Research and Creative Activities Award Subcommittee (RCA)
    The Research and Creative Activities Subcommittee is a subcommittee of the Faculty Policies Committee (FPC).  The RCA is responsible for the administration of two internal award programs, the Campus-supported Research Award Program, System-wide Scholarship, Research and Creative Activity Program, and with recommending policies and procedures relating to these awards to the Faculty Policies Committee
  • Student Retention and Graduation Subcommittee
    The Student Retention and Graduation Subcommittee is a subcommittee of the Academic Policies Committee (APC) and serves as a research, program evaluation, and policy analysis workgroup and consultative/advisory body on matters relating to student progress toward degree, student support programs, and instructional programs/initiatives designed to improve retention and graduation rates, with significant emphasis on research and evaluation of data.
  • Visiting Scholars Subcommittee
    The Visiting Scholars Subcommittee is a subcommittee of the Faculty Policies Committee (FPC) and is responsible for reviewing recommendations related to the Visiting Scholars Program and contributes to the life of the Sacrametno State Community through its lecture series and scholarly presenatations.
  • Writing and Reading Subcommittee
    The Writing and Reading Subcommittee is a subcommittee of the Curriculum Policies Committee (CPC) and is charged with reviewing, making recommendations to CPC related to, and advising departments, programs, Academic Affaris, and the Center for Teaching and Learning on matters related to the Writign and Reading in the Majors policy.  It further adjudicates GWAR appeals.
