THE LIVINGSTON ANNUAL FACULTY LECTURE COMMITTEE
The Faculty Senate shall establish The Livingston Annual Faculty Lecture Committee of the Senate, composed of five faculty members, which will oversee The John C. Livingston Annual Faculty Lecture. The committee will be charged to solicit nominations from the faculty at large and to select the person to receive the honor each year.
In the selection of the Livingston Lecturer, the Committee emphasizes a continuing commitment to the principles so tenaciously espoused by Professor Livingston. The person to be selected should meet the following criteria: A faculty member who has played an active role in the life of the University, who has displayed a consistent collegiality, and who has shown a strong commitment to students while maintaining an active participation in creative and scholarly activities.
The Lecture is to be viewed as a University convocation and classes may be dismissed for the occasion.

The Academic Senate shall establish a committee of the Senate, composed of five faculty members, which will oversee the Faculty Address program. The committee will be charged to solicit nominations from the faculty at large and to select the person to receive the honor each year. The committee will also be charged to select a date and time in mid-spring for the Faculty Address. The Address is to be viewed as a University convocation and classes may be dismissed for the occasion.

The annual faculty address shall be titled "The John C. Livingston Annual Faculty Lecture" (4/4/86 memo from R. Curry attached). The Faculty Address Committee shall become The Livingston Annual Faculty Lecture Committee.
