Dr. Robert S. Nelsen is Sac State's new president
Dr. Robert S. Nelsen became Sac State’s eighth permanent president on July 1, succeeding Alexander Gonzalez, who retired after 12 years of leading California’s capital university. “It is an honor to be the president of Sacramento State, a true honor. It’s a blessing to be here,” Nelsen says. “This is a great university.”

The #HornetNation is headed to Seattle

Back to College Night in Washington, D.C.
Calling all Washington, D.C. area alumni! Register now to attend this annual reception hosted at the Rayburn House Office Building on Capitol Hill. The free event is a great time to network with your fellow Sac State and CSU alumni. 

"What's Possible" speaker series
Hosted by the Hornets Policy & Politics Alumni Chapter, this "What's Possible" lecture delves into the topic of innovation districts. Listen to an esteemed panel of speakers discuss the recent trend in urban planning and how local governments are leveraging the phenomenon to stimulate economic growth. Admission is free and includes lunch.

Donate to new food pantry
Sac State's Associated Students Inc. is opening a food pantry this fall to assist students who face issues of food insecurity. Non-perishable food items and toiletries can be dropped off starting Monday, Aug. 3, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays-Thursdays at the ASI Hot Spot in the University Union.

First physical therapy doctorate grads honored
Marking a milestone for both the 30 graduates as well as the University, Sac State honored its first Doctor of Physical Therapy class in July at a formal hooding ceremony. Sac State's three-year DPT program is one of the few in the country that utilizes a state-of-the-art simulation lab.
