Alumni ASsociation committeesThe Alumni Association provides opportunities for alumni to volunteer on one of its many committees.

If you are interested in becoming involved in Association leadership, committee participation is an excellent start. Below is a description of our current committees.

Chapter & Alumni Development Committee

The Chapters and Alumni Development Committee seeks to build strong chapters and engage alumni in a meaningful way. The Committee valuates existing programs and creates new programs that will help grow and maintain the Alumni Association membership base. The Committee is also responsible for oversight of all major events undertaken by the Association, including Homecoming, Alumni Month, and the Distinguished Alumni Awards.

Membership & Fund Development Committee

The Membership and Fund Development Committee works to build a strong membership program and ensure funding for Alumni Association activities from non-membership sources such as affinity programs and sponsorships. The Committee evaluates existing programs, new program proposals and make recommendations that will stabilize funding for the Association. The Committee also is responsible for oversight of membership marketing efforts and participation in sponsorship solicitation.

Scholarship Committee

The Scholarship Committee is responsible for overseeing the annual Alumni Scholarship program. The Committee reviews plans for seeking applications, establishes selection criteria, evaluates applications and selects recipients for the available scholarships. The Committee also is responsible for increasing the funds available for scholarships.

Finance Committee

The Finance Committee is responsible for reviewing the financial affairs of the Association and reporting the financial condition of the Association to the Board on a quarterly basis. This includes analyzing each month’s financial statements, monitoring budget progress, reviewing the annual proposed budget, examining financial policies, and making recommendations to the Board on fiscal policy.

Nominating Committee

The Nominating Committee is responsible for selecting from the regular active membership, candidates to fill the vacancies that are to occur on the Board of Directors or in any Officer position, due to expiration of the terms of office. The Nominating Committee submits to the Board a list of nominees for approval by a simple majority vote. The Committee consists of at least four (4) members, including the immediate past president, the president-elect and two or more members of the Association appointed by the chairperson with the approval of the president.
