For the love of the games

Mark Otero is CEO and co-founder of KlickNation, a video game company that he bootstrapped into a multi-million dollar operation since 2008.
The company employs over 70 creative professionals in the creation and publishing of hardcore games on Facebook with offices in Sacramento (HQ) and San Francisco. KlickNation’s flagship games, Superhero City and Age of Champions, have taken Facebook by storm: More than one million people play KlickNation’s games online monthly.
Otero is a sought after expert in the field of social applications, virtual goods, free-to-play and “freemium” games and was recently quoted in Forbes and VentureBeat. He is a Google “go-to person” for social application development and was invited to speak at the Google I/O conference and in China.
He also serves on the leadership committee of the Next Economy and is a regular guest speaker at UC Davis. Originally from Seoul, South Korea, Otero moved to Sacramento at the age of 12. He loves games.
In April 2012, Otero received a Distinguished Service Award at the Distinguished Alumni Awards Reception.
