About Our Scholarships
Each year several $2,000 scholarships are awarded within three categories:
- Freshman
- Continuing Undergraduate
- Graduate
Each application is evaluated by the Sacramento State Alumni Association Scholarship Committee on the basis of:
1. demonstrated academic success;
2. demonstrated leadership and participation and service in school and the community; and
3. hardships, and/or obstacles, financial or otherwise, that the applicant has overcome.
Visual & Performing Arts Scholarships
Each year up to three $1,000 scholarships are awarded by the Visual and Performing Arts Foundation of Sacramento. These scholarships are granted to incoming and continuing students who are majoring in the visual or performing arts at Sacramento State:

The Colonel J.L.S. Hopkins Scholarship is awarded to students that incorporate any visual or performing arts program into their education pursuits.

The Earl Payne Memorial Scholarship recognizes students in theatre, dance or the visual arts majors.

The Dorothy Augusta Memorial Music Scholarship is awarded to students who plan to pursue music education and a career in music.
