Holiday Mocktail Party
The Mocktail Party is annual event held every fall semester. The two-part event consists of a networking workshop followed by a mocktail party.
At the networking workshop, members receive valuable professional advice. Participants learn everything from how to give a proper handshake to how to make a good first impression and how to dress for job interviews.
During the mocktail party, members get to mingle with a room full of alumni, while enjoying delicious mocktails and appetizers. The spirited evening is the perfect opportunity for members to practice their newly learned networking skills. The event also helps members make connections and receive professional career advice.
At Career Buzz, Student Alumni Association (SAA) members have a unique opportunity to network one-on-one with alumni in their major and professional field of interest.
The format is an informal, progressive dinner. Students are seated at different alumni tables for different courses.
It's casual, it's fun and it's a dinner built specifically to help student members develop their career aspirations.
We encourage attendees to bring a list of prepared questions, and watch the conversation flow as alumni share their experiences about their own personal career journey.
At our last Career Buzz, alumni from the following careers attended:
- Criminal Justice
- Computer Science
- Social work
- Biological Studies
- And Many More!
Career Buzz event is an opportunity for you to gain exposure and insight into your future career!

What is Career Buzz?
Career Buzz is a progressive three-course dinner, organized to help Student Alumni Association (SAA) members meet alumni in their major and professional fields of interest.
Each table at Career Buzz is hosted by a small group of alumni representing a particular career.
When SAA members RSVP, they are asked to choose three fields of interest. Each member will then be assigned table numbers according to their choices.
Upon arriving at the event, SAA will provide you with your table assignment. After each course, SAA members will rotate to their next assigned table.
By the end of the meal, each SAA member will have learned about three different professions!
What happens if I don't get seated at my top three picks?
Don't worry! There will be time after the event to meet and chat with alumni whose tables you didn't get to sit.
I've already picked my major. What is the point in meeting alumni in career fields that I have no interest?
There is great value in being exposed to alumni outside of your career aspirations.
From meeting people and making friends to learning about life after graduation, expanding your network of connections will always benefit you!
