M. Elizabeth Strasser is a paleoprimatologist with a dual interest in the evolution of prosimian primates and the evolution of Old World monkeys. Regarding the first, she has worked in the intermontane basins of Wyoming, collecting fossils from the Eocene epoch. Dr. Strasser also works on the comparative anatomy of the postcranial skeleton of Old World monkeys. By reconstructing the likely evolutionary pathways of Old World monkey postcranial evolution, she has offered two hypotheses about their origin and subsequent radiation.
