MAJ Knieriem

Lieutenant Colonel Brian Knieriem is a logistics officer who graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi and received his commissioned in 1999 through the Golden Eagle Army ROTC program.  He assumed duties as the Professor of Military Science at the University of California, Davis and California State University, Sacramento in June 2015.

Knieriem’s previous assignments include the Joint Multinational Training Center, Operations Group S4 and Sustainment  Team Executive Officer, Observer Coach Trainer (OCT).  He commanded the Maintenance Troop (FWD) and the RHHT (Rear), 3d Armored Calvary Regiment.   He was later assigned to Ft. Carson, CO in support of 3rd Brigade, 4th Infantry Division as the Brigade Logistics Support Team (BLST) Chief.  As a Lieutenant, Knieriem was assigned to the 16th Corps Support Group, Hanau, Germany where he served as a Platoon Leader, Executive Officer and staff officer.  Knieriem has deployed to Operation Iraqi Freedom three times and has one deployment to Kosovo.

LTC Knieriem’s attended the United States Air Command and Staff College, the Combined Arms and Staff Service School, the Combined Logistics Officer Advance Course and the Quartermaster Officer Basic Course.  He has a Masters of Military Operational Art and Science from Air University Maxwell AFB, Alabama.

Knieriem’s military awards and decorations include the Bronze Star with two oak leaf clusters, Meritorious Service Medal with three oak leaf clusters, Arm Commendation Medal with three oak leaf clusters, Army Achievement Medal, the Army Crewman Badge, the Basic Parachutist Badge and the Rigger Badge.
