Japan
	Books on Japan Provides bibliographic information of books on Japan in Western languages processed by the National Diet Library (NDL). Tale of Genji Lawrence Marceau (University of Delaware) has contributed a fine chart of Genji chapter titles giving page numbers for chapters in the translation by Royall Tyler published in October 2001. Japan GIS/Mapping Sciences Resource Guide A guide to Japanese GIS (Geographic Information Systems) with digital data, satellite images, and maps of varying scales from several governmental agencies including Japan's Geographical Survey Institute. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs In addition to major foreign policy statements, press conferences and speeches, the core of this site is the "Japan Information" section. Ancient Japan A view of the major events and cultural "concepts" of ancient Japan. The chronology ends with the Heian period, and cultural topics include music, writing, and arts of Japan with sections included on Buddhism. Viewing Japanese Prints An exhaustive number of Japanese print artists are accessible from this site. Japan Documentation Center Established in 1992 to collect and disseminate Japanese public policy information. Japanese Film Listing A long list, arranged alphabetically, of Japanese movies, each with a short one or two-sentence blurbs. Asuka Historical Museum Information on the Asuka period, on the stone-carved figures of Asuka, and extensive information on the temples of Asuka with accompanying photographs. Edo Japan Virtual tour of life in Edo with subjects ranging from Kabuki to Edo water supply with article links to short explanatory sections. World War II: Pacific Theatre Original source material pertaining to World War II, in particular to the Pacific War. Included are links to a report produced in 1946 by The Manhattan Engineer District about the Hiroshima and Nagasaki atomic bombings, government documents about Pearl Harbor, and an FBI report about Tokyo Rose. Documents on the Korean War A gargantuan list of links to primary document sources on the web relating to the Korean War put together by Vincent Ferraro, professor at Mt. Holyoke college. Korean History: The Korean War An extensive bibliography of books and articles in print (not on the Web) that covers all aspects of the Korean War, which is part of a larger bibliography maintained by the Center for Korean Studies at the University of Hawaii.
