FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
- Can Academic Technology and Creative Services create my poster session for me? We can meet with you and offer advice and suggestions. If you will be using the same content for your classroom, we can produce materials that will be used in an instructional setting.
- Who do I contact for advice? Contact Valerie Mighetto at (916) 278-5486 or email: valm@csus.edu.
- How much does it cost to print out a large poster? Currently at Kinko’s the cost is 75 cents per square foot for a black and white print out, and $10 per square foot for a color print out. If you would like to have your poster laminated, it will cost more.
- How long does will it take to have the poster printed? Kinko’s and Brownie’s both have a 24 – 48 hour turn around.
- How soon before the conference should I start working on my poster session? As soon as possible! Allow at least 3-6 weeks.
- How should I carry the poster once it is printed. You can purchase a mailing tube at Kinko’s or at a stationary supply store. Roll it up and carry it with you when you travel.
- How do I hang my poster session? Bring double stick tape, or velcro mounting squares to the conference with you. Contact the conference organizers to ask how the posters should be mounted and on what kind of surface.
- I don’t have any of the software needed to complete this poster session. How do I obtain the software? As a member of the Sac State faculty or staff your may obtain selected software through the campus software distribution web site. As a Sac State student you may purchase software through the Sac State campus bookstore software vendor or by visiting the campus bookstore.
