PowerPoint Setup
From the file menu select > New and choose a Blank Presentation. Go to the the file menu and choose Page Setup > Custom.
Use the chart below to figure out the final size of your poster. Because PowerPoint has a maximum size constraint of 56" x 56" your final poster may have to be printed out at 200% of the page setup size.

PowerPoint Tips
- To add text to your poster create a text box using the Text Box Tool. Either import your text from Microsoft Word using the Copy and Paste commands or type directly into the text box.
- To insert images, Excel charts or tables Select > Insert Picture from the File menu and locate the file on your hard drive.
- To move text boxes and images, select the outside of the text box or select the image and drag into position.
Adobe Illustrator Setup
- From the file menu select > New. In the New Document window type in the correct Artboard Setup size for your poster. Make sure that RGB is selected for the color mode. Choose OK.
- When your poster is complete and ready to be printed, save the file as a .pdf (Portable Document File) to give to your vendor. If you decide to give the printing vendor an Illustrator file, Save As an .eps file and include the fonts and images used to create the poster. Check with your vendor to make sure they have Adobe Illustrator.

Adobe InDesign Setup
From the file menu Select > New. In the New Document window choose Document Preset > Custom. For the Page Size choose Custom and type in the final measurement of your poster session. Assign the poster margins of 2" on all sides.
When your poster is complete and ready to be printed, save the file as a .pdf (Portable Document File) to give to the printing vendor. If you decide to give the vendor an InDesign file, check with your vendor to make sure they have Adobe InDesign. Include your fonts and images with your InDesign file.
