OFFICE OF DISTANCE EDUCATION

The Office of Distance and Distributed works in collaboration with a variety of on and off-campus entities, to facilitate the development, delivery and scheduling of all distance and distributed education courses. These activities include:

  • Collaborating with college deans, department chairs and faculty to identify and develop DDE courses and/or programs

  • Coordinating course scheduling

  • Training of faculty, staff and students in the use of and familiarization with new technology systems and studio classrooms operation

  • Coordinating professional graphic, video, multi-media and programming support for the production of elements used in distance or distributed education projects.

  • Facilitating services to assist with material distribution, quiz and text monitoring, and distant education site technical liaison

  • Consulting with various centers regarding services available for supporting the unique needs of the distant learner

  • Recommending policies and implementing processes, practices and quality control measures to insure the integrity of DDE services

  • Establishing and administering formal and informal working relationships with other CSU campuses and/or colleges and university interested in exporting and/or importing distance and distributed education courses and/or programs

  • Initiating and managing DDE assessment related to teaching and learning effectiveness, student performance, and quality of support services
