PREPARING IMAGES

  • Scanned images, graphs and charts from other programs should be saved in a file format that is compatible to the application you are using.

    • PowerPoint file formats: .eps, .tif, and .bmp are best. Jpeg (or .jpg) will work, but is a low resolution format and will not produce the best results.

    • Adobe Illustrator file formats: .eps and .tif are best. Jpeg (or .jpg) will work, but is a low resolution format and will not produce the best results.

    • Adobe InDesign file formats: .eps and .tif are best. Jpeg (or .jpg) will work, but is a low resolution format and will not produce the best results.

  • Scanned images should be 180-200 dpi when the poster is printed out full size.

  • Save images in RGB (color file format), or grayscale. (CMYK images may not print correctly.

  • If your images are prepared in photo editing software such as Adobe Photoshop flatten the images before importing them into the poster session.

  • Do not compress placed images.

  • Use the Place or Insert command to bring your images into the document. Do not use Copy and Paste commands.
